The Y’s Cricket Stars is a fun and inclusive program which offers children the opportunity to develop cricket skills, and also build great friendships and learning pathways that may help them later in life. The year-round program prepares kids for club cricket by teaching them the fundamentals of the game.

We have tailored cricket programs for two age groups: 5-7 years and 8-10 years. These programs are carefully crafted to suit the developmental needs of each group, ensuring that children receive age-appropriate coaching and challenges.

Here are some of the fundamental skills learned in the Cricket Stars program:

• Batting Techniques: the basics of holding the cricket bat, stance, grip, and footwork.
• Bowling Skills: introduction to bowling techniques, including proper grip, seam position, and body alignment.
• Fielding: kids learn how to position themselves on the field, catch the ball safely, and throw accurately.
• Running Between Wickets: how to run between the wickets, understanding the importance of quick decision-making, and communication with your batting partner.
• Wicketkeeping: for those interested in becoming wicketkeepers, kids are introduced to wicketkeeping techniques.
• Teamwork and Communication: learn the value of teamwork, effective communication, and collaboration with your teammates.
• Respect and Sportsmanship: cricket programs instill values such as fair play, respect for opponents and officials, and good sportsmanship.
